Learnatronics is the brainchild of:
- Miles Selvidge:
- With a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering, B.S. in Chemistry, & Master in Business Administration, Miles has been active in teaching and education for almost two decades. Miles started tutoring students in 1997 (including math, chemistry, physics, and engineering), and he has taught Northern Shaolin Kung Fu since 1999. In 2008 Miles founded a tutoring company, Selvidge Tutoring Service, which serves students including junior high through graduate school. Miles worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and as a Teaching Specialist at the University of Texas at Austin (UT). Currently, he is an instructor for GMAT & GRE review classes at UTD. As a day job, he is a lead engineer at a major US aerospace company. His daily activities include training new engineers in state of the art design and test procedures and equipment.
- Katie Walker:
- A PhD chemist with years of teaching experience and a passion for science and technology. Katie has a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with a certification in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Currently, Katie teaches at the university level and wears multiple hats working with a chemical blending company that specializes in surface finishing and waste water treatment. Katie has experience in science and technology at every level from advanced research to K-12 education, and has organized and presented at STEM education outreach events for over 10 years.
- Breandan O'Shaughnessy:
- Engineer in a major technology firm by day, and tinkerer and inventor by night. Breandan has an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a B.Sc from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. In addition to performing cutting edge plasma research in graduate school, Breandan has contributed to open source projects, designed and sold electronics, and has been an active software developer since his freshman year of High School. He has presented at conferences in both English and German in his academic career.
- Zheyun "Rachel" Zhang:
- Having achieved a degree in Marketing in Shanghai, China, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas, Zheyun embraced the enterprising spirit. She contributes an in depth knowledge of international supply chains, market research, and customer service.
