Learnatronics Back to School Workshop for Teachers

We had a great time at the Learnatronics Back to School Workshop at UT Dallas in Richardson, TX on Saturday, August 13, 2016! The one day workshop showed teachers how to integrate hands-on circuit activities into the classroom using the Learnatronics Introduction to Electronics Kit. The workshop emphasized guided hands-on activities where each attendee built basic circuits (series/parallel), a memory game, and an optical theremin musical instrument. Learnatronics educational experts were on-site all day to answer any questions teachers had about the kits and integrating circuits into your classroom!

Innovate McKinney Local Startup Competition Business Expo and Finale

Learnatronics Summer Workshop

Wednesday, June 22, 2016, Richardson, TX

The Learnatronics Summer Workshop for Teachers was held at UT Dallas in Richardson, TX on Wednesday, June 22, 2016! The one day workshop showed teachers how to integrate hands-on circuit activities into the classroom using the Learnatronics Introduction to Electronics Kit. The workshop emphasized guided hands-on activities where each attendee built basic circuits (series/parallel), a memory game, and an optical theremin musical instrument. Learnatronics educational experts were on-site all day to answer questions about the kits and integrating circuits into the classroom.

 

Our first workshop got a great response! Comments from attendees of our June workshop:

Frisco Mini Maker Faire

Sci-Tech Discovery Center, 8004 Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX, 75034

The Mini Maker Faire at the Sci-Tech Discovery Center celebrated the grand opening of the Sci-Tech Discovery Center Makerspace. Learnatronics Makers were onsite demonstrating memory games and optical theremins made from electrical circuit components and 3D printed parts. Many families took part in our circuit challenge and designed their own circuits!

Presentation Info: Integrating Hands on Circuit Activities into the Classroom

Want to integrate hands on circuit activities in your classroom but not sure where to start? Come try out the Introduction to Electronics Kit that embodies STEM to STEAM by taking students from basic lessons on series/parallel circuits to building a Memory Game and Optical Theremin musical instrument. Along with hands on activities, we will discuss TEKS standards met, classroom implementation, and instructor resources.

Learnatronics exhibited at the EXPO in the gym. Students checked out our electronics kits, tested their memory with our Memory Game, and tried out their musical abilities on our optical theremin musical instrument!
